Protect Your Home Around the Holidays

The number of home intrusions climb greatly throughout the holiday season. There is typically more merchandise and valuables in the home this time of year. Many times homeowners are out of town for extended periods of time during the holidays as well. This creates the perfect opportunity for burglars to target your home. Your trusted home security company in mid-Missouri is here to help you protect your home and belongings. Continue on to see how Fort Knox Alarm & Security can help you monitor your home with a security system.

Home Security System:

At Fort Knox Alarm & Security, we have a number of home security features available to customize the level of protection around your home. Our video monitoring system helps homeowners visualize what is going on in and around their home. Access the live feed from your phone of tablet, if there is suspicious activity. A motion detector is another helpful piece to securing your home. A siren will sound if motion is detected in the home, if it is armed. Always monitoring for the sound of a break-in via glass window or door, our glass break detector can help protect your home while you are away. A door or window contact alerts the security system if one of these entrances are used and will notify the owner if the home is armed.

Other Helpful Tips:

-Keep Gifts Out of Sight
As you gather your gifts for the upcoming holiday season, keep them away from windows and doors. If a thief sees a stack of gifts, your home will soon become the target of a break-in.

-Strategically Light Home
Burglars look for clear signs that no one is home. Leaving lights off while you are away gives a signal to everyone near your home, thieves included, that no one is home. On the flip side, if you leave a porch light or a lamp on inside your home all day and night, a thief may take notice and target your home. A light timer set to come on at dusk can help solve this problem.

-Secure Entrances
Even if your home being monitored, ensure your doors and windows are secured each time you leave your home. 30% of robberies occur when a door or window is unlocked, allowing the burglar to help themselves to your belongings.

-Keep Your Plans Private
With social media being so prominent in our lives, many people will publicly share their plans for the holiday season. While we know it is exciting to get out of town to visit friends and family, if the wrong person gets ahold of this information, your home has now become an easy target.

Protect Your Home With Fort Knox

While there are a number of precautions to take to help keep your home safe this holiday season, the best way to monitor activity around your property is to invest in a home security system. Here at Fort Knox Alarm & Security, we pride ourselves on providing protection and monitoring systems to help ease the worry of homeowners, especially when they are away. We Salute All Who Have Served this Veterans Day

While the goal of Fort Knox Alarm and Security is to protect your home or business, we want to salute those who have served to protect our great country. We do everything needed to ensure the quality of protection for you and your family are of the highest caliber. With 40 years of combined experience in the security business, the best security company at the Lake of the Ozarks knows what it takes to protect your home and business. In honor of Veterans Day, we have provided some history and facts for your enjoyment.

Veterans Day History

Armistice Day originated on November 11, 1919, on the first anniversary of the end of World War I. In 1926, congress made the holiday an annual observance. President Eisenhower officially changed the name of the holiday from Armistice Day to Veterans Day in 1954. The holiday was moved to celebrate Veterans Day on the fourth Monday in October in the year 1968, but in 1975, President Ford returned the holiday to November 11th. Other countries, like Britain, France, and Canada commemorate veterans around the same time of year that America does. In other countries, it is common to observe two minutes of silence at 11:00 a.m. on November 11th.

Veteran Statistics

-With a total of about 21 million veterans in the United States, around 16.1 million living veterans have served during at least one war in which our country was involved.

-6 million veterans have served during peaceful times.

-About 2 million women in the United States are veterans.

-November 11th is both a State and Federal Holiday.

-According to 2014 census, 3 states have more than 1 million veterans residing in each state. California has 1.8 million, 1.6 million reside in Florida, and 1.7 million call Texas home.

We are proud to have a veteran-owned company in Mid-Missouri. Fort Knox Alarm & Security can help monitor and protect your home or business. Protect Your Business with Fort Knox

Do you worry about the security of your business, even after you have left for the day? Here at Fort Knox Alarm And Security, we will do everything needed to ensure the quality of protection in and around your commercial location is of the highest caliber. Often times, a business is a target for break-ins due to the fact that thieves can target the location after hours, when it is more likely that no one is around. Today’s blog is going to go more in depth about our business intrusion system and how it can help protect and monitor your commercial property.

Video Monitoring

We offer surveillance cameras that can be placed around your business location, both inside and outside, to monitor what is going on near your commercial space. Our experienced technicians will install the cameras throughout your business. The video monitoring system offers a smart capture with intelligent triggers that can record exactly what you care about.

Safety Devices

Our smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector can be linked to your thermostat and security system. An alarm will sound and emergency personal will be contacted, if needed. If smoke is detected in the business, the thermostat will be shut off, keeping smoke from being pulled into the vent and dispersed throughout the entire space. If carbon monoxide is detected in the building, an alert will sound letting anyone inside the building to know there is an issue and they should exit the business.

Motion Detector

The infrared motion detector used with our security system has a 90-degree look down and 110-degree spread. Our detector offers a dual element sensor with 30x50 foot range. If the business system is armed as away, and there is motion inside the building, an alarm will sound and send a notification to the business owner as well as send an alert to law enforcement.

Glass Break Detection

Our glass break detectors monitor for the sound of breaking glass. With a 360-degree range, if a window or glass door is broken, the detector will “hear” it and send an alert as needed. This technology offers a tamper protection as well.

Door & Window Contacts

The doors and windows inside your business can be armed with contacts. These contacts send a notification if any door or window is opened. If the alarm is set to arm away, an alarm will sound and send notifications to the owner and law enforcement if there is an issue.

Remote Alerts

A business owner or manager can set the alarm system to send them text or email alerts about any activity going on inside or around their property. The video monitoring feed can be accessed via a mobile device, and you can even set the system to send you video clips, if needed. Arming and disarming the system can be performed and checked via a mobile device as well.

Your daily business may consume most of your time during the day, but we want you to be able to enjoy your time away with peace of mind that your property is protected. Your trusted security company in Mid-MO is here to help you monitor your business location. If you are interested in hearing more about our security system options and how we can help protect your business, give Fort Knox Alarm And Security a call today!
